Montgomery County Fallen Firefighters Monument

Montgomery County Fallen Firefighter Monument Montgomery County Fallen Firefighter Monument

The Firefighter Memorial was commissioned and constructed by the Montgomery County Firefighters Association in 2002. The plaque at the top bears the names of the Montgomery County Firefighters and EMS personnel who died in the Line Of Duty (LOD) or were Active Members of a Montgomery County Department.

The bricks surrounding the base of the podium form a Maltese Cross which is the traditional sign of the Fire Service. The large dark bricks at the front of the Memorial hold the names of those members who died in the line of duty. The names of those who died while active members of a department but whose death was not related to an incident are on the smaller dark bricks.

The Memorial was passed to the MCFCA in 2007 to be maintained and was renovated in January of 2008 by the MCFCA.
